Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane felt his side’s defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns was a result of “poor decision making” in the final third.

the Glamour Boys fell to their third straight defeat in the DStv Premiership following their narrow 1-0 defeat to Sundowns at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

The defeat leaves Chiefs in fifth place on the log with 24 points after 17 games, while Sundowns stretched their lead at the top of the league table to 17 points.

Zwane bemoans his sides missed chances against Sundowns and felt his side should have scored at least four or five goals if they were more clinical in the final third.

“Look, we had a plan and our plan let’s force them to play the ball inside, we gonna get the ball there and from the first half we had about five of those, similar, where we get the ball and give it back to them,” Zwane told SuperSport TV.

“In the final third entry where we know we could have done better, poor decision making and it happened again in the second half. Today if we were clinical, we could have scored four or five goals.

“If you look how many balls sometimes even Ronwen (Williams) tried to play and it hits one of our players, it fell on our path and we just have to punish them. We had numbers at that time, three v two, three v one and then decision making let us down again.

Despite the defeat, Zwane says he was satisfied with his sides showing in the second half.

“So it’s one of those things, it wasn’t to be but second half was by far better than the first half. I think first half we were a bit sluggish, we showed them too much respect but second half starting with (Siyethemba) Sithebe who gave us that balance.” he added.

“We started now looking like we can dictate the terms in the middle and ja I think we got better and better as the game progressed.”
