Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane felt his side played as if they could have scored at “any given moment” following their tough battle against Maritzburg United in the DStv Premiership this past weekend.
The Soweto giants secured their fourth straight win after they clinched a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Team of Choice at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
Keagan Dolly, Christian Basomboli and Yusuf Maart all got their names on the score sheet while Mogamad De Goede and Amadou Soukounagot found the back of the net for the Team of Choice.
The win sees Amakhosi remain in fourth place on the table with 37 points and trail second placed SuperSport United by two points.
Maritzburg, meanwhile, find themselves sitting in 15th place on the table with 21 points after 23 matches played.
“We got two early goals from great movement and after we got the second goal, we thought the game was going to be easy but I warned the players that these guys are going to put up a great fight because they are in a position where they want survival,” Zwane told his club’s official website.
“I think, in the second half they took their foot off the pedal and were a bit more cautious, which allowed us to take control of the game and when we made our counter attacks at the right time, we looked like we could score at any given moment.”
