Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick Ekstein has urged starlet Happy Mashiane to stick to playing his normal football in order succeed at Amakhosi.
The 21-year-old has shown early signs of promise since gaining promotion to the Amakhosi first team after joining the senior team from the Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) side in January.
Mashiane has already made three appearances for the Glamour Boys against Tornado, Cape Town City and Orlando Pirates in the Absa Premiership and Nedbank Cup respectively.
Ekstein believes Mashiane has what it takes to do well at the club and will show the same quality he did when he played for the MDC side.
‘He must play his normal football,’ Ekstein told the media.
‘They promoted him because they saw the quality he can bring to the team so let’s hope he will bring that quality he was doing in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.’
‘At the moment he is doing well and I am happy for him, let’s hope he will deliver the way they are expected too.
‘He must not become big-headed, he must just play football. As long as he is playing his normal football… the supporters want a win and the only time they turn against you is when you are not winning.’
