Kaizer Chiefs confirmed that the club have agreed to mutually terminate the contracts of trio Hendrick Ekstein, Gustavo Paez and Khotso Malope.
Ekstein’s departure has been much publicised as he entered the final few months of his contact.
The diminutive midfielder has subsequently been in and out of Ernst Middendorp’s side while the contract talks continued in the background.
The 28-year-old was reportedly seeking improved terms on the contract as offered.
Chiefs, though, have subsequently decided to let the player leave two months before the end of his contract.
Paez, who has rarely featured this season, has also been released two months before the end of his current deal.
Malope, on the other hand, has also had his contract terminated with immediate effect, despite having more time on his contract than the other two.
Bhongolethu Jayiya is another player rumoured to be close to the exit door, but the club are yet to comment on his situation.
