Former SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus has completed a move to Portuguese outfit Vitoria de Setubal.

The 28-year-old now joins the Portuguese outfit from Swedish outfit Athletic Eskilstuna after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
Erasmus became the fourth player in South Africa to sign for Setubal in the space of a few days after they captured the services of Sphephelo Sithole, Nkanyiso Shinga and Philani Jaca.

‘When the opportunity arose to come and represent Vitoria, I spoke with my former coach, Eric Tinkler, who gave me the best references of the club,’ Erasmus told the club’s official website.

‘He told me a little about the history and grandeur of Vitória and especially about the good fish that is eaten in Setubal, but which, I confess, I am not very fond of. I will have to prove it.’

Over the course of his career, Erasmus has scored 51 goals and assisted a further 27 from 233 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of SuperSport United, Feyenoord, SBV Excelsior, Orlando Pirates, Stade Rennais, RC Lens and Athletic Eskilstuna.
On an international level, the striker has managed to rack up 14 caps for the South African national team while scoring two goals in the process since making his debut back in 2010 under then-coach Pitso Mosimane.
