Cape Town City striker Kermit Erasmus revealed that, although he was satisfied with his debut against SuperSport United, he does believe that he can do better.

Erasmus was named in Benni McCarthy’s starting 11 in the 1-0 win over Kaitano Tembo’s team at the Lucas Moripe Stadium last Saturday.

The Bafana Bafana striker played the full 90 minutes, despite having played very little football over the past three years after struggling to break through during his European spells at French sides Stade Rennais and Lens, Swedish outfit AFC Eskilstuna and Portugal’s Vitória Setúbal.

Speaking about his debut, Erasmus admitted that while he is satisfied with his performance, he does believe there is room for improvement.

‘I am satisfied, but not entirely happy,’ said the former Orlando Pirates striker.

‘If you look at the final third, I think I could have done better. But it’s my first game after, let’s say, a year.

‘I am happy to get a chance to play again. I had a little bit of a strain, but I kept on going because I have not been playing for a year.

‘I just want to enjoy myself and be on the field of play.’

Despite picking up a small knock in the encounter against United, Erasmus calmed fears that he could miss this weekend’s clash with Baroka in Cape Town.

‘It’s not too bad. It’s a small strain. I will be back [for the] next game against Baroka.’
