Bloemfontein Celtic have confirmed that former Polokwane City coach Luc Eymael has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
Siwelele appointed Eymael as the club’s new head coach after swift negotiations during their press conference this morning at Siwelele Park.
Eymael, who resigned from Polokwane City during the week, was subsequently engaged by Celtic and after long hours of vigorous meetings, an agreement was reached to pen a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Bloemfontein Celtic’s lawyer, Mandla Tshabalala, agreed on the contract with the astute coach.
‘I met with the coach in Johannesburg this morning (Friday), together with his representatives to discuss our interest in him, and after an open meeting we agreed [just after lunch] and he committed to joining the team,’ Tshabalala told the Celtic website.
The Belgian coach expressed his delight at joining a club of the calibre of Celtic, and he also referred to Siwelele as one of the best.
‘I’m happy to join the team of such incredible stature with massive support,’ says Eymael.
‘When I first arrived in the country, I somehow had a soft spot for the team, purely because of the passion and dedication displayed by the supporters, and trust me, I share the same thirst to win.
‘My philosophy is simple, to play good football with appropriate tactical discipline. I have watched the team before and have seen some exceptionally good players that just need guidance and encouragement to start winning again.’
The newly appointed coach will be in Rustenburg to watch the team play against Buya Msuthu in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 15:00.
