Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael is confident Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech will sign a pre-contract with Ea Lla Koto after his successful trial period at the club.
The 33-year-old striker is currently a free agent, having last played for Dubai Cultural Sports Club, where he spent half a season after three seasons with French Ligue 1 side Ajaccio.
Eymael revealed that Oliech has impressed during his trial period at Ea Lla Koto and has a strong possibility of earning a deal at the club following talks held with the club’s management.
‘Oliech has had a very successful and positive trials since arriving and he will have a meeting with the management either today [Tuesday] or Wednesday to discuss a possible transfer,’ Eymael told the media.
‘I am very confident he will sign a pre-contract but I don’t know for how long.
‘It will not be six months but I suspect a one year deal because window opens in June and the season restarts in August.
‘Yes he [Oliech] looks very good and fit. He is scoring goals in training and that is the kind of striker I want for the club.’
Over the course of his career, Oliech has scored 43 goals and assisted a further 33 from 293 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of Kenyan side Mathare United, Qatar-based Al Arabi Sports Club, French sides FC Nantes, AJ Auxerre, AC Ajaccio as well as Dubai CSC.
Meanwhile, on an international level, the striker has racked up 66 caps for the Kenyan national team while scoring 34 goals in the process since making his debut back in 2002.
With one match to go before the end of the 2017-18 season, Stars currently occupy sixth in the Absa Premiership standings with 40 points, level with fifth-placed Cape Town City.
