Bafana Bafana international Fagrie Lakay has completed a move to Egyptian Premier League giants Pyramids FC from DStv Premiership outfit Cape Town City.

The Citizens and Pyramids FC agreed to terms over the permanent transfer of the South African international, who joins compatriots Percy Tau and Pitso Mosimane in the Egyptian Premier League.

Lakay has become the fifth player to leave the Mother City outfit since the start of the year after Surprise Ralani departed to Mamelodi Sundowns, Abdul Ajagun to Al Hilal, Edmilson Dove and Abbubaker Mobara to AmaZulu.

“Cape Town City and Pyramids FC have agreed to terms over the transfer of South African international Fagrie Lakay,” City tweeted on their official page.

“Lakay joins Percy Tau and Pitso Mosimane, flying the South African flag in the Egyptian Premier League.”

Lakay was in fine form for City during last season and the current campaign as he managed to rack up 17 goals and 10 assists in 63 appearances across all competitions.

On an international front, Lakay has picked up two caps for the South African national team since making his debut on 11 November 2021 under Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos.
