Kaizer Chiefs yet again showed their defensive frailties to add to their growing list of draws, as Giovanni Solinas will start feeling the heat while Steve Komphela is smiling at Bloemfontein Celtic, writes DEAN WORKMAN.

1) Cardoso, Chiefs defence struggling

Daniel Cardoso was the heartbeat of a solid Chiefs defence last campaign. This season, however, the defender – along with his teammates – have struggled to rediscover that form. Cardoso, in particular, has been at fault for several goals so far this campaign, as Solinas faces a tough task to plug the holes in his leaky defence.

2) Billiat brilliance

The Zimbabwean striker was on the scoresheet yet again for his new club. The money spent on signing Billiat from rivals Mamelodi Sundowns looks to be paying itself off every week as the forward continues to shine for Amakhosi.

3) CBD = Castro + Billiat + Draw

Poking fun at the number of draws Chiefs have accumulated this season, football fans online claimed to find the new CBD: Castro, Billiat and Draw, making reference to the former partnership between Billiat, Leonardo Castro and Keagan Dolly at Mamelodi Sundowns.

4) Komphela proving his worth at Celtic

After failing to live up to expectations at Naturena, Komphela took over the reigns at Phunya Sele Sele looking to redeem himself. The former Maritzburg United manager has got off to the ideal start, guiding Celtic to three wins and a draw in their opening four games, lifting them to second on the log. If Celtic can sustain this form remains to be seen, but Komphela has certainly begun repairing the damage to his name.

5) Solinas will start feeling the pressure

Football fans, and South African ones in particular, are infamously impatient in the modern game. After failing to pick up a single league win in five games, Solinas might just be about to experience this first-hand.

The MTN8 will offer the Italian some respite, as the Glamour Boys could book a place in the final this weekend. However, if they fail and their poor league form continues, Solinas will certainly start to feel the heat.
