Orlando Pirates has announced that defender Ayanda Gcaba has joined Platinum Stars on loan until the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

The 31-year-old will now link up with former coach Roger de Sa at Dikwena after falling out of favour at the Buccaneers under coach Milutin Sredojevic.

Pirates released the following statement: ‘Orlando Pirates Football Club has reached an agreement with Platinum Stars over the services of defender Ayanda Gcaba.

‘The defender moves to Dikwena on loan for the remainder of the season.

‘Gcaba has been at the club since 2012 having signed from Free State Stars. The 31-year old had been a regular starter in the Buccaneers set-up until recently where he has had little game-time this season under Micho Sredojevic.

‘The move to Platinum Stars will see the hard-tackling defender join former Bucs coach Rodger De Sa.’

Over the course of his career, Gcaba has netted nine goals and assisted another from a total of 183 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of Free State Stars and the Soweto giants.
