Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has threatened to take steps against Kaizer Chiefs over the supposed ‘tapping-up’ of left-back Godfrey Walusimbi.
The Ugandan defender left the Kenyan club to travel to South Africa to help force through a move to Naturena.

He, however, did so without the clubs’ or coaches permission, leading Gor Mahia to accuse Chiefs of tapping up the player and conducting the transfer in bad faith.
Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung confirmed that Walusimbi is in the country and in the process of negotiating a deal to join the Glamour Boys.
Motaung, however, denied any claims made by Mahia that suggested the club acted in an unprofessional manner.
The Chiefs football manager told IOL that, ‘He [Walusimbi] is here at the village [club headquarters], and we are going about things the right way. We will make further announcements when we have agreed a deal with his club.

‘But the player has not gone missing from his club. Maybe there was some confusion as the coach [Kerr] obviously wants to keep the player,’ concluded Motaung.
However, according to Futa, Kerr insisted that, ‘Walusimbi is out of the equation, he chose himself to go to South Africa, he didn’t have my permission, he didn’t have the club’s permission. He, the agent and Kaizer Chiefs are the ones to blame for this and we will take action against all three of them.’
This is the second time this window that the Soweto Giants have been embroiled in a battle with a club and the player they are trying to sign.
Earlier on in the window Chiefs announced the signing of Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana from Madagascan side Fosa Juniors. Fosa claimed that the player was still under contract while Chiefs thought he was available on a free transfer. However, that dispute was resolved, and ‘Dax’ is now awaiting his work permit before he can turn out for the Glamour Boys.
