Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits have reportedly agreed a fee for the transfer of goalkeeper Ricardo Goss.
With the Wits sale having been confirmed over the weekend, clubs are looking to quickly seal deals for some of the club’s top talent.
A number of players – such as Thulani Hlatshwayo, Deon Hotto, Haashim Domingo and others are on their way out – with the new owners from TTM confirming that they will not be able to afford the salaries of a number of club stars.
Sundowns are reportedly interested in a number of Wits players, and while it looks like they will miss out on Hlatshwayo and Hotto, they look to have won the race for 26-year-old Goss – who reportedly has been offered a five-year-contract by the Brazilians.
Goss will be keen to secure his future after seeing his five-year contract with Wits – which would have come into effect on 1 July – effectively become null and void after the club’s sale.
However, the young goalkeeper will have a lot of competition for a spot at Sundowns, with Denis Onyango still the undisputed No 1 and the experienced Kennedy Mweene also still on the books.
Sundowns recently concluded a deal for keeper Jody February, also deemed to fight for a place while Reyaad Pieterse is expected to leave the club.
