Kaizer Chiefs has been handed a boost ahead of their Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates after Teenage Hadebe and Dumisani Zuma returned to training.

The Glamour Boys are currently third in the Absa Premiership standings with 35 points, while the Buccaneers are in second place – one point clear of their rivals with 36 points after 22 games.

Hadebe missed Amakhosi’s clash against Bloemfontein Celtic last weekend with an ankle injury, while Zuma has shrugged off a groin strain that kept him sidelined for three weeks.

‘Teenage felt a pain in his ankle last week and we decided to rest him for the Celtic game. Today we put him through some tests and we feel that he will be able to train with the squad again,’ Chiefs’ physiotherapist Dave Milner reports.

Meanwhile, Kabelo Mahlasela will return to first team training after about two or three weeks as he continues to mend his way back to full fitness.

‘He is jogging on the field and will do so for the next two to three weeks before joining his teammates at training,’ he added.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to go head-to-head with Orlando Pirates in what is expected to be an enticing Soweto Derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, with kickoff set for 15:30.
