Orlando Pirates returned to winning ways after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Highlands Park at the Makhulong Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.

A late goal from Tshegofatso Mabaso helped the Buccaneers move up to eighth place in the league standings with 12 points after nine games, while the Lions of the North occupy fourth spot with 14 points from nine matches played so far this season.

The Soweto giants will now turn their attention to their upcoming Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final clash with arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
Meanwhile, Highlands will travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium when they take on Maritzburg United in their quarter-final clash on Friday, kicking off at 8pm.
