Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership with a narrow victory over Baroka FC, while Orlando Pirates were forced to share the spoils with Swallows in their Soweto derby on Tuesday.

Ten-man Mamelodi Sundowns returned to winning ways after they secured a 2-1 victory over Baroka FC at Loftus Versfeld Stadium when goals from Rivaldo Coetzee and Themba Zwane cancelled out Richard Mbulu’s equaliser.

The Brazilians are now up to 40 points at the top of the DStv Premiership standings after 16 games, while Bakgaga are bottom feeding on 10 points after 15 matches.

Orlando Pirates and Swallows FC were forced to share the spoils at the Dobsonville Stadium after they played out to a 1-1 draw as Bandile Shandu’s goal was cancelled by Ruzaigh Gamildien’s penalty.

The draw has Swallows sitting in 13th place in the league standings with 13 points from 15 games, while the Buccaneers remain in third on 24 points, a point behind rivals Kaizer Chiefs and 16 behind Sundowns.
