Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo has credited head coach Gavin Hunt for the impressive form he has been in so far this season.

The 27-year-old was recently named Player of the Month for March after his impressive performances for the Clever Boys last month, which saw him lead his side one point behind Absa Premiership leaders Cape Town City.

Hlatshwayo has credited Wits coach Gavin Hunt for his current form, having netted four goals and assisted one from 23 appearances in all competitions thus far this season.

‘Moving from Ajax Cape Town to Bidvest Wits, Gavin has definitely brought something out in me that I didn’t know I had,’ Hlatshwayo told the Bidvest Wits website.

‘Gavin is a coach with character and he brings something out of all the players. He awakened the beast in me.’

The Bafana Bafana international has urged the Students to stand together and take every game as they come in the hopes of clinching their maiden Absa Premiership title.

‘We will take each game as it comes. We learned a lot in our last few matches, and we need each and every player. Everyone needs to be behind one another and we need to come to the pitch as a united front.’

‘The Clever Boys have been consistent in their performance in the league and all eyes are on them as the season draws to a close,’ Hlatshwayo concluded.

Bidvest Wits will be hoping to continue their current form in the Absa Premiership when they take on Golden Arrows on Tuesday.

The match at the Bidvest Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
