Kaizer Chiefs left back Yagan Sasman says the Telkom Knockout Cup will be the perfect opportunity for Amakhosi to win some silverware.
The Glamour Boys are set to travel to Cape Town Stadium when they renew their rivalry with Cape Town City in the last 16 of the knockout competition.
The two sides have met once before this season, with Amakhosi claiming the spoils after coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Benni McCarthy’s side at Newlands Stadium in August.
Sasman, who hails from Grassy Park, says he is looking forward to the opportunity of playing against the Citizens in front of his home crowd.
‘It’s the second time that I am going back to Cape Town with Chiefs. We played against City at Newlands Stadium and we won [2-1 in August],’ Sasman told the media.
‘Hopefully, I’ll get an opportunity to play, it’ll be a privilege to play in front of my home fans and family.
‘It’s been a while since this team last won a cup, so the Telkom Knockout is a perfect opportunity to put Chiefs where they belong.’
The match at Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 3pm.
