Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed that veteran forward Daine Klate will be leaving the club.
Klate arrived at the Clever Boys from Orlando Pirates in 2015 and went on to form a vital part of the title-winning team in 2016/17.
The 33-year-old’s impact, however, has begun to wane. He only played 17 times in the 2017/18 season and only managed a solitary goal.

Hunt confirmed to SABC SPORT that Klate will leave the Johannesburg based club in an attempt to be closer to his family.
‘Its not easy to let any player go, especially someone you’ve been with for years.

‘But his family has moved to PE now and he’s at an age where it’s better for him to play closer to home,’ said Hunt.
Klate’s departure will be remedied by the arrival of Gift Motupa from Baroka FC, who Hunt believes will make an impact.
‘He’s not a prolific goalscorer but obviously he’s scored more goals than many others, he was third in the goalscoring charts and that’s gonna help us,’ Hunt concluded.
