Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt insists that he has no intention of parting ways with the defending Absa Premiership champions, despite their poor run of form this season.

The Clever Boys climbed off the bottom of the standings with a 2-0 victory over SuperSport United on Wednesday, their third win of the season.

Hunt insists he will not leave his position at Wits, stating the club would have to ‘pull me out with a horse and cart here’.

‘Me? You’d have to chase me out here. You’d have to pull me out with a horse and cart here. No quitting,’ Hunt said after their win over Matsatsantsa.

‘Of course I was pressing panic buttons. We did not do enough business [in the transfer window] at the start of the season in my opinion. Now we are doing business. You will hear a big story.’

‘I have been in South African football since 1980 as a player and a coach and I have never seen a team miss chances like I have seen this year. If we were converting our chances we’d be top of the league.’

The Clever Boys will be without the services of defender Bongani Khumalo as they prepare to take on Chippa United in their league clash on Sunday.

“We have only one game, so I can’t say we have turned the corner. Let’s win a couple of games and we will see,’ he added.
