Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt has admitted that he doesn’t want to play at home after their recent form at the Bidvest Stadium has seen them fall from the top of the Absa Premiership.
The Clever Boys relinquished a two-goal lead to Cape Town City last week as the Citizens grabbed the three points with a thrilling 3-2 victory.
The result saw Wits’ home record stand at just two wins in their last seven at home, and Hunt admitted to The Star that he can’t wait for the upcoming away games because his side can’t win at home.
‘Right now, I don’t want to play at home, because we can’t win,’ said Hunt.
‘In the first round we beat all these teams away, (Orlando) Pirates, (Kaizer) Chiefs, Cape Town City, but in the second round, we haven’t done it,’ he continued.
‘That’s the disappointing part. We can organise and get everyone settled, but the individual mistakes are crazy,’ he added.
The former SuperSport United boss also believes that his side has not had luck on their side in recent games, with some refereeing decisions not going their way.
‘We’ve also got to get the rub of the green, because there were two penalties. Pelembe [was brought down], and there was a handball because the ball went into the hand and they didn’t give it [the officials].
‘But it is what it is, and we’ve got to knuckle down and get a few results,’ Hunt concluded.
The 2016-17 Absa Premiership champions next face away trips to AmaZulu FC and Bloemfontein Celtic, before hosting their PSL title rivals, Pirates.
