Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt insists that his side will go about their business as usual as the race for the Absa Premiership title reaches it’s final stretch.

The Clever Boys occupy second spot on the table with 45 points amassed from their 22 matches thus far in the season and find themselves one point behind log-leaders Cape Town City, who have played two more games than them.

When quizzed about what he will do differently to ensure that the Students clinch their maiden PSL title, the former SuperSport United mentor maintained that they will aim to continue in their same form of vein which has proved so successful this season.

‘Absolutely nothing. We are keeping things simple, just as we have done throughout the season,’ he told Mail and Guardian’s official website.

‘Football is a simple sport. It is the media and the fans who make it complicated. If it needed rocket scientists to figure it out, I would not be here.

‘When you start shifting your focus towards the finish line, you probably won’t get there. Instead, we are going to keep doing what we have been doing as that has got us into this fantastic position,’ he added.

Hunt also alluded on why the Clever Boys have been such a force to be reckoned with this season.

‘I feel that this is my team and that when I give the players instructions, they have faith in the plan.

‘There is too much talk over coaches these days. Better players make you a better coach. I am not confident; I am relaxed.

‘I heard that one of our main rivals are looking at each of their remaining games as if they were Cup finals. Good. Let them worry about the title and we will worry about our next game. We’ll see who comes out on top at the end,’ he concluded.
