Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp expects a tight encounter with an unpredictable AmaZulu side when they meet in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.
Middendorp and his Amakhosi side arrived at the King Shaka International Airport in Durban on Monday.
The Glamour Boys will be hoping to return to winning ways following their narrow 1-0 defeat by Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium in their previous league fixture.
Middendorp insists that he will not alter his approach to the game, despite Usuthu’s changes to their technical team with Jozef Vukusic taking over from Cavin Johnson.
‘We have not changed much in terms of our approach to this game,’ Middendorp told his club’s official website.
‘It is important to create a winning combination. Of course, we had to work on the mistakes we committed in the previous match. And I think we have done our homework.
‘They are going through some changes and surely they’re not comfortable with their start to the season.
‘But this is the time that you mind your business. We have our own ambitions to cater for. So, their situation didn’t factor into our planning for the match.’
The Amakhosi mentor believes that his side have made great progress leading up to this encounter, while stating that Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo remain the only two on the sidelines for Chiefs.
‘It is going to be a tight match,’ he added.
‘We have no new injuries in the squad. Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo remain the missing pieces in our squad.
‘I’m glad they are making steady progress and we can’t wait to welcome them back. We will need a strong squad as the league progresses.’
The match at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi kicks off at 3pm.
