Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali says they are “highly motivated” and “willing to fight” for all three points against Royal AM after dropping points in their past two games.

The Brazilians are gearing up to face Royal AM in their next DStv Premiership encounter at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Sundowns currently lead the pack in the league standings with 31 points from 13 games, while Royal occupy third place, nine points behind the defending champions with 22 points after 13 matches played so far this season.

Jali has urged his side to stay focused and motivated as they look to overcome an in-form Royal AM side to maintain their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership.

“We want to win and achieve everything that’s up for grabs in the PSL,” Jali told his club’s official website.

“We’ve been waiting to play this game, we know that it’s an important game to us. We recently just lost two points on Saturday against Stellenbosch and now coming into this game we are very motivated and everyone is willing to fight. It’s [also] a good thing that we want to win and achieve everything that’s up for grabs in the PSL, for us this is a good game that’s going to keep us at the top.

“We’ve been fighting since the beginning, as you can see we’ve all been getting individual awards as different players, that shows that there isn’t only one person working hard, the more we get these individual awards the more the team comes together.

“We know what they are coming here to do and what they are capable of, we are prepared for them. They also want to do their best, they are already motivated because we know that everyone wants to prove that they can play football against Sundowns.”

The 31-year-old has been in a good of run form for Masandawana this campaign and a crucial part of their success thus far. Now he is passing his experience and knowledge on to the younger players to further help the team succeed.

“I’m doing my best to guide the youngsters in the team [because] when the mood is good in the team and we’re all backing each other up we can win,” he concluded.
