Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele believes his team has done enough hard work under Josef Zinnbauer and his technical team since returning to training to be ready for the blockbuster clash with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Soweto giants take on the Brazilians on Tuesday evening in their first game back since the Covid-19 interruptions.
Sundowns, though, have already returned to action with a 3-2 win over Bidvest Wits in the Nedbank Cup, and will be desperate to close the gap on log leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Jele admitted that it has been good to be back in the swing of things and that his side is motivated to finish the season strongly.
‘Just to come back and train with the guys again is very good. We are motivated. Each and every one want us to come back and play the game. For us, it’s very important to start now with the win,’ Jele said via video on Pirates’ official Twitter account.
‘The mood is very good since we came back from lockdown. I think everyone is motivated and excited to play the game. And, obviously, we’ve been training very well and the technical team prepared us very well. I think we are ready for this coming game and we want to do our best and enjoy the game. We want to go there and work hard and get some results for the team,’ the 33-year-old centre back added.
