Black Leopards have confirmed the appointment of Cavin Johnson as their new head coach following the departure of Luc Eymael.
Eymael recently handed in his resignation and has since been replaced by Johnson, who was appointed as the club’s new head coach after putting pen-to-paper on a one-year contract.
The former Platinum Stars mentor now returns to the Absa Premiership for the first time since parting ways with AmaZulu in September.
Johnson will be in the dugout for the first time as Leopards coach when they take on Highlands Park on Sunday, 5 January 2020.
Speaking to the media, Johnson said: ‘Yes, I feel a lot more relaxed now after taking a break. I spent time with the family, and I’m ready for the new adventure. It is part of football.’
‘I’ve just signed a contract two or three hours ago. I prefer to go to work, and then we can start to set goals.
‘The club wants to win. That’s the main priority. They want results quickly, but I’m fortunate to have a chairman (David Thidiela) that understands.
‘How you win, it is important. How you lose, it is also important. Obviously, I want the club to do well.’
