The agent of defender Justice Chabalala has revealed that his client, who is currently on loan at Bloemfontein Celtic, wants to end his career with the Buccaneers.
The 28-year-old’s contract at the Soweto giants is set to expire at the end of June 2020 and his future has been a topic of discussion in recent weeks after his fine showings for Siwelele.
The defender joined Pirates in June 2016 but has constantly struggled to break into the team making just 20 appearance across his entire Pirates career. The player has previously had loan stints at Chippa United but left the Soweto giants for Celtic in January as he looked to reignite his career.
The Giyani-born player has been impressive at Celtic and his agent told SoccerLaduma.com that his client will be going back to Pirates at the end of the current season.
‘It is true that there is interest in Justice Chabalala from a number of PSL [Absa Premiership] clubs, and one of them is a Gauteng-based club. But our plan with Justice was for him to go to Celtic and play, and we are delighted that things are happening the way we planned,’ said Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi of Rush Hour Sports Management.
‘Regarding the future, the first and last option for Justice Chabalala is Orlando Pirates. As far as I am concerned, Justice Chabalala will retire at Orlando Pirates, unless the club decides otherwise. You know what they say, once a Pirate, always a Pirate. We are not entertaining any sort of interest from any club regarding the player’s services,’ he concluded.
