Kaizer Chiefs striker Lazarous Kambole believes Amakhosi can overcome the pressure and end their four-year trophy drought by winning silverware this season.
The Glamour Boys have had an impressive start to the 2019-20 campaign and are currently unbeaten in their first four matches in the Absa Premiership thus far.
Ernst Middendorp’s side currently sit at the top of the league table with 10 points, after securing one draw and three wins four matches played.
The Zambian international insists that Amakhosi are on the right track to winning their first Absa Premiership title in five years.
‘We are on the right track‚ we are doing well.
‘But this is the right time to be humble and continue working hard in training and I hope‚ and I know that this season we will win silverware.
‘The pressure is there for us to win the title this year, because we have not won anything for the past four years.
‘It’s better to be on top of the log than to be in the chasing pack because then we won’t have to depend on the results of other teams.
‘So, keep on winning then we will be assured that the league title is ours.’
Kaizer Chiefs are set to welcome Polokwane City to the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off set for 6pm.
