Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande says winning the Absa Premiership title and one more cup will make him happy.

The Soweto giants won the league in 2013 and 2015 under the tutelage of Stuart Baxter, and Katsande is aiming to replicate that success this season, despite his side’s poor start to the season.

‘I need to win the league for my team and a cup. I think that will make me happy,’ he told the media.

‘I think, by doing that, I’ll have a wonderful off-season. Obviously it has been painful for the club because they used to be known for winning.

‘We are worried about our situation, but everything happens for a reason and this is the time for us to turn the corner.

‘I still believe we have the quality in the squad so that we can bring a smile to the fans’ faces,’ he added.

The Zimbabwean spoke of his desire to be remembered as a Chiefs legend.

‘Obviously I want to be remembered as a legend of this club, so I’ll give my best.

‘This is hunger and you must never be satisfied. Never be comfortable, don’t be familiar with the territory you are in, just wake up like a young kid that needs to achieve something. So you need to stay hungry.

‘Where I come from back home in Zimbabwe they know that I earn a living out of football. So I just need to be positive every time I play. I just need to give my best,’ he concluded.

Chiefs’ next encounter sees them face Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Versveld Stadium on 17 October, with kick-off set for 19:30.
