Kaizer Chiefs captain Willard Katsande admits that Amakhosi need to tighten up their defence after conceding 24 goals in the Absa Premiership this season.
The 31-year-old has played a vital role in Amakhosi’s bid to secure their fifth Absa Premiership title, netting four goals from 31 appearance in all competitions so far this season.
The Glamour Boys currently occupy fourth place in the Absa Premiership standings with 46 points and have won 12 of 23 games played so far, trailing log leaders Bidvest Wits by five points.
Katsande admits that his side have to work polishing up their defensive work-rate after conceding seven goals in their previous six fixtures.
‘We need to polish up one or two areas, we need to polish up in defence,’ Katsande told the media.
Meanwhile, Gustavo Paez, who has been in fine scoring form, says that he is enjoying his time with the Glamour Boys, while comparing the similarities between South Africa and Venezuela.
‘South Africa is similar to Venezuela, even the pap we have something similar, the games are fantastic like a party. Am enjoying,’ Paez said.
The Venezuelan international has made 14 appearances for Amakhosi in this campaign during his first season in South Africa, while assisting one goal and scoring four in the process.
Kaizer Chiefs will next take on Golden Arrows when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
