Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says he is too young to think about retiring, but suggested that he wouldn’t mind hanging up his boots at the Chloorkop based-outfit.

The 32-year-old joined Sundowns in 2011 from Bloemfontein Celtic and has won every domestic trophy on offer, barring the MTN8 title. When recently asked about retiring, the Bafana Bafana international quickly dismissed the notion saying that he is still enjoying his football with Pitso Mosimane’s side.

‘I still feel good at Sundowns. I’m 32 now, so I think I’m still too young to be thinking about retirement,’ he told kickoff.com

‘I’m still enjoying my football, I’m still enjoying the craziness of the players and I’m still enjoying the opportunity to be leading them as a captain.

‘I’m glad they’re still allowing me to be myself, they’re allowing me to be the crazy person that I am, and I’ve been allowed to do crazy things with the ball.

‘I’m always looking forward to training, and being at the club is still a really nice feeling,’ he concluded.

Kekana made his top-flight debut with Black Leopards in 2004 and subsequently enjoyed spells at City Pillars, SuperSport United, Celtic and Sundowns.
