Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana believes his side needed something a ‘little bit crazy’ to claim three points against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old netted a brace to help his side claim a 3-1 victory over the Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

Kekana believes that Sundowns needed something special to beat Pirates as he produced a brilliant display, capped off by scoring from inside his own half to beat Wayne Sandilands.

‘It’s a very fluke goal. It’s one of those goals you can’t score them, you have to be a little bit crazy to do something special,’ Kekana told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘Tonight I’m happy it turned out when we needed the goal very much, and we should be happy with the three points.’

Despite Sundowns conceding two consecutive defeats, the Bafana Bafana midfielder believes that his team dominated both games, but admits that goals were the only thing lacking.

‘Its psychological, if you lose two games in a row it says a lot about how a human being can react. The matches that we lost we were dominating,’ he added.

‘It’s just the lapse in concentration, that’s why we were conceding goals. We pressed them from the top and knew if we scored we stand a good chance of winning the match.’

Mamelodi Sundowns will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they take on Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on 21 November, with kick-off set for 19:30.
