Newly appointed Swallows FC head coach Dylan Kerr says he joined the club because of their ambitious owners and is hoping to get them playing like in the “early days”.
The Dube Birds have endured a disastrous season thus far, currently propping up the standings in the league with just eight points from 12 matches.
That poor form cost coach Brando Truter his job and now former Black Leopard coach Kerr has been tasked with leading Swallows out of the relegation zone.
“I’m in awe, it’s so unexpected,” Kerr told KickOff.Com.
“The reason I joined the club is that they have ambitious owners. But I know positions don’t lie. We’re bottom with a massive but very good squad.
“They’re still new to the PSL, so they’re making mistakes. They are growing and learning and that takes stability.
“They’re still growing as a club. Swallows, I hope, now can replicate how they used to play back in those early days, with flair, passion and eagerness to create and score goals.”
The coach’s first game on the touchline will be against Maritzburg United in a league clash at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.
