Premier Soccer League chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has confirmed that the annual PSL awards evening will continue as planned.
The PSL held a board of governors meeting with its 32-member clubs where a decision was made to complete the 2019-20 season.
The league’s chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza, has since confirmed that the current campaign will resume on 8 August, with all the remaining matches – including the Absa Premiership, GladAfrica Championship and Nedbank Cup games – to be played in Gauteng.
‘That is a debate whether it [PSL awards] will be virtual or not virtual. That will be decided by the executive committee,’ Khoza said during a news conference in Johannesburg on Monday.
‘But there are preparations going on right now to see if it is going to be virtual. If it is going to be virtual, we will have to see who will be coming.
‘All to do with social distancing, which will be a factor taken into account.’
Khoza also revealed that the PSL Q-Innovation will continue as planned with the best team being awarded for the final quarter.
‘The Q-Innovation will be determined as according to the quarter,’ he said.
‘The fixtures won’t be changed. Where we stopped, we are going to continue where we left off. So, the Q-Innovation won’t be much of a problem.’
