Baroka interim coach Doctor Khumalo believes Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has taken coaching in South Africa to another level.
Mosimane claimed his third Absa Premiership title with the Brazilians as they came from behind to beat Ajax Cape Town 3-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium over the weekend after Khama Billiat, Ricardo Nascimento and Sibusiso Vilakazi cancelled out Mosa Lebusa’s second-minute opener.
Meanwhile, Bakgaga have recently appointed Khumalo as their interim coach following the sacking of Kgoloko Thobejane.
The former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach credits Mosimane and his technical staff for what they have accomplished this season, while also reserving special praise for other coaches in South Africa who don’t get noticed.
‘You [Mosimane] are taking our coaching jobs [as locals] to another level, because no one is giving us credit as South African coaches, but through you, Manqoba Mngqithi [Mosimane’s assistant] and other coaches, it’s a job well done, guys,’ Khumalo told FarPost.
‘Well again, just to congratulate Pitso and his technical team, the players, the supporters, obviously the management and the chairman [Patrice Motsepe].
‘It’s a job well done and congratulations. You’ve done it again and I’m proud of you, Pitso. I’ll give you a call and congratulate you personally.
‘I know you will probably hear it from the media, but as a friend and as a colleague, I’m very proud of you.’
