Brilliant Khuzwayo bid farewell to Kaizer Chiefs and the Amakhosi faithful after their 2-1 victory over Ajax Cape Town at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The Glamour Boys managed to book their place in next year’s Caf Confederation Cup while condemning Ajax to the promotion/relegation playoffs where they will take on the likes of National First Division sides Black Leopards and Jomo Cosmos.

The 28-year-old shot-stopper brought his six-year tenure at Naturena to an end, having made a total of 34 appearances in all competitions while keeping 19 clean sheets in the process.

‘Thank you to the Kaizer Chiefs family, it’s been a great six years,’ Khuzwayo said.

‘Thank you to the chairman [Kaizer Motaung] for giving me an opportunity, thank you to Bob Steak [football manager Bobby Motaung] for giving me an opportunity.

‘Ngibonga amafans [I thank the supporters] for the love they have shown to me. Ngiyabonga ngenhliziyo emhlophe [I thank you with a pure heart].’

Amakhosi ended the 2017-18 Absa Premiership campaign in third place with 48 points while claiming 12 wins, 12 draws and six defeats from 30 matches this season.
