Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo has urged the club to be patient with interim coach Rhulani Mokwena.
Mokwena was appointed as the interim coach of Pirates two months ago following the departure of former coach Milutin Sredojevic.
The Buccaneers occupy eighth place in the Absa Premiership standings with nine points, having won two, drawn three and conceded two defeats from their first seven league games so far this season.
Although Mokwena has endured a difficult start to his tenure as head coach, Khuzwayo believes his intelligence as a coach will lead Pirates out of their current slump.
‘Football is evolving in different sectors right now,’ Khuzwayo told the media.
‘I just hope the club is going to be patient with him and give him enough time and support so that he can show what he is capable of.
‘Mokwena is a good coach and a very intelligent guy. I do believe that things will, at some point, improve.’
Orlando Pirates will be hoping to return to winning ways when they take on Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium on 26 October, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
