Amajita winger Kobamelo Kodisang has left Absa Premiership outfit Bidvest Wits to join SC Braga in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

After spending a week training with Braga, the club has announced the signing of the Wits teenager, who put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Portuguese outfit.

The 19-year-old now returns to Portugal after a successful loan stint in the Serie B of the Portuguese Championship with AD Sanjoanense last season, where he scored five goals from 24 appearances in all competitions.

Speaking on his move to Braga’s official website, Kodisang said: ‘I hope I can help the team reach the second division and win the campaign and championship.

‘Every Braga B player wants to go to the first team. I also expect to go to the first team but I know it won’t be easy. I have to work hard and be dedicated so I can go through to the A team.

‘Yes, it is true that I spoke to Luther Singh before coming. We played in the South Africa U20 squad and it was important in my decision,’ he told the club’s website.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese club released the following statement:

‘Kobamelo is a fast winger, is also 19 years old and was one of South Africa’s highlights at the U20 World Cup, where he faced Portugal and Trincao.

‘Arrives from Bidvest Wits South Africans, after playing on loan at AD Sanjoanense last season. In Serie B of the Portuguese Championship, played 24 games and scored 5 goals.’
