Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says conceding an early goal was the defining moment during their 1-0 defeat to Chippa United on Wednesday.

The Glamour Boys extended their winless run in the Absa Premiership to four games after suffering a defeat against the Chilli Boys

Komphela believes Amakhosi’s errors in the beginning of the first half led to the Chilli Boys opening goal within the first 10 minutes.

‘I think in the first half, we committed an error right at the beginning and that was the defining moment,’ Komphela told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘With respect — they did well, Chippa, but I thought in the second half, there was only one team on the park.

‘I think the number of chances we created was more than they did, but all we need to do is hit the back of the net.’

The Soweto giants have now dropped to seventh in the Premiership standings with 16 points, trailing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by three points.

Kaizer Chiefs will next travel to the Royal Bafokeng Stadium when they take on Platinum Stars in the Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off at 6pm.
