Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has hinted at making new signings, but stressed the need to ‘rectify the mistakes’ of the past season in order to move forward.
The Glamour Boys formed part of the title chasing pack for a large part of the season, but faltered with six games left to be played in the campaign and Komphela highlighted that there are areas which need reinforcements.
‘There are areas where I felt we were a bit thin and there are certain things where I think as a team, we need to rectify the mistakes of this season,’ he told reporters.
‘But that can be done after our audit; clearly there are quite a few things that need to be rectified,’ he added.
The former Maritzburg United mentor was mum with regards to naming any players that he has his sights sets on.
‘In relation to the market, coaches have to be very careful because you don’t start saying things before they are done.
‘When there is a different outcome, then you put everyone in the system under pressure.
‘Without sending a message that we are going to buy this player or that, we need to tighten up some screws so that we can come through,’ he concluded.
