Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela felt his side could’ve done better, despite coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Baroka.

The Glamour Boys climb to third in the Absa Premiership standings with 29 points after 18 games, trailing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by five points.

Komphela says his side had to maintain their composure to get back in the game after Joseph Molangoane received his marching orders.

‘We had to keep our cool, even with the red card. You still need to keep a cool head. You can’t lose it. We just need to have a slight tweak without being obvious of what we’re doing,’ Komphela told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘I’m happy for Leo, he scored a great goal, (Ryan) Moon, great goal he scored as well. I thought the overall performance might have been better.’

The Chiefs mentor feels his side could’ve had a better performance on the day, but insists he is happy to walk away with all three points against a stubborn Baroka side.

‘I think we’re giving the ball away too much, and when you’re playing against teams like Baroka who are waiting for you to commit that technical error and they pounce, we played into their hands at times,’ he added.

‘We shouldn’t do that. We have to go back and look at it again. Good victory, three points. We needed the victory. But there’s still a number of things I felt we could’ve done better.’

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to maintain their winning form when they welcome Mamelodi Sundowns to the FNB Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 20:15.
