Fans at the FNB Stadium were left wanting more after Kaizer Chiefs failed to get into second gear during their 0-0 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday.

The pressure mounted on Glamour Boys coach Steve Komphela following yet another dull performance from his star-studded side.

Despite controlling possession, Chiefs failed to create enough pressure to find the winner against the visitors, who themselves grew in confidence during the latter stages.

Michelle Katsvairo failed to take advantage of a Patrick Tignyemb mistake as the Amakhosi frontman blasted his effort over the bar.

Chiefs were in control but were unable to create any meaningful chances as the first half drew to a close.

Joseph Molangoane got his chance to make a name for himself in his new colours in the first half as a replacement for George Lebese but the former Chippa United man was unable to stamp his authority as the sides headed for the tunnel with the scorers untroubled.

Tignyemb denied Eric Mothoho’s headed effort to keep Celtic level as the crowd began to voice their frustration.

The draw, Komphela’s seventh this season, means Chiefs move their winless run to eight matches and six points behind leaders Cape Town City.

Elsewhere, Polokwane City continued their good form as they edged Chippa United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium while there were no goals at the Princess Magogo Stadium as Golden Arrows held Bidvest Wits.

Jabu Maluleke earned Rise and Shine the win with his 83rd minute strike to move his side to within a win of the league leaders.
