Anthony Laffor of Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns announced that the club have extended the contract of forward Anthony Laffor.

The Liberian’s future came under question as he entered the final six-month of his contract at Chloorkop.

The club have put any speculation to bed, however, announcing that Laffor has put pen to paper extending his stay with the Brazilians.

The player has enjoyed a good run of form recently, contributing with some important goals, which convinced the club to sign him on. Although Downs did not specify the duration of the contract, it is believed that it is a one-year deal, with an option for a further year due to the 33-year-old’s age.

Laffor has started all four of his side’s Absa Premiership games this year, as well as featuring in the Caf Champions League.

The winger joined Downs in January 2012 and has played 162 games across all competitions, scoring 29 goals while also providing 18 assists.
