Mamelodi Sundowns wingback Lyle Lakay wants to have a great birthday by beating former club Cape Town City at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Monday evening.
The Brazilians will take on the Citizens in the next league encounter, having already played three games in nine days, including in the Nedbank Cup and two Absa Premiership matches.
Sundowns have previously met City on seven occasions with Masandawana registering four wins out of the seven clashes, while 16 goals were scored and nine by Pitso Mosimane’s side.
Lakay, who is celebrating his birthday on Monday, shared his feelings on playing against his former team: ‘We expect them to come out with everything, this is the time in a season where everyone is fighting,’ Lakay told his club’s official website.
‘It will be a good birthday present, last year on the same day we played them and it was a draw. I trust we will get three points tonight so I can have a great one.’
Mamelodi Sundowns against Cape Town City kicks off at 6pm.
