Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen believes his side still have much to improve on despite their surprise lead at the top of the PSL standings.

Arrows’ comeback win over Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday took them to a total of nine points after four matches, a tally which points them two points clear of chasing pack Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City.

The lead is likely to remain temporary, however, owing to the postponement of Wits’ clash against Pirates, which was enforced following protesting. A win for either would take them to the top of the standings on 10 points from four matches.

‘We are working hard as a team. We have lot of new players and we are still trying to gel,’ Larsen told KickOff.

‘We [are] not yet where we want to be. We still have new players that are adapting. We want to continue working hard and remain competitive in the league this season,’ he added.

The former Bafana Bafana star explained that he had set small targets for his side this season.

‘We are trying to get eight points after five games. We got nine points in four games and we have already achieved that. Our next target is in the next five games to meet our small targets.’

Abafana Bes’thende face SuperSport United on Wednesday evening.

The action at the Chatsworth Stadium gets underway from 19:30.
