Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese says he will continue to work hard to improve his performance after winning Goal of the Month for October.
The midfielder picked up the October prize for his brilliant solo effort against Ajax Cape Town at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
He will now compete with the other winners of this monthly award for the coveted Goal of the Season at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old, who walked away with R5000, says he will continue to work hard and prove his quality whenever he is given the chance.
‘More was expected from me. However, I’m working hard and when given an opportunity I will grab it with both hands,’ Lebese told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
The former Arcadia Shepherds midfielder shared the stage with Marc van Heerden, Oscarine Masuluke and Percy Tau, who won the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month for September, November and December respectively.
Lebese admits that Amakhosi will face a tough Mamelodi Sundowns side next, but he insists that the squad is training hard to prepare for the match.
‘We know their quality and we will be ready to counter them,’ he added.
‘It is going to be a tough match. We are playing against the African Champions and they deserve respect. We are working hard to prepare for this game.’
Kaizer Chiefs will welcome Mamelodi Sundowns to the FNB Stadium when the Absa Premiership resumes on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 20:15.
