Cape Town City goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh has joined captain Thamsanqa Mkhize by sending his own message of support to people in South Africa and the Netherlands.

All football games and events in South Africa and across the world has come to a halt following the coronavirus pandemic.

However, PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza revealed that the board of governors agree that the 2019-20 campaign has to finish by 30 June 2020 following the league’s BOG meeting held in Kempton Park last Thursday.

Leeuwenburgh has since urged South Africans and the people in his home country (the Netherlands) to remain safe during these difficult times.

‘Hello Dutch people in the Netherlands and in South Africa,’ Leeuwenburgh wrote on Cape Town City’s Twitter page.

‘This is Peter [Leeuwenburgh] from Cape Town I hope that you are doing well? Follow the instructions of the government and help each other if possible.

‘Wash your hands, stay safe and all the best from Cape Town.’
