Chippa United coach Kurt Lentjies admits there are “small elements” that are killing his side at the moment following their 3-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs.
Goals from Samir Nurkovic, Keagan Dolly and Coke Alexander cancelled out Bienvenu Eva Nga as they failed to claim three points at home.
The defeat leaves Chippa in 13th place in the DStv Premiership standings with 21 points from 23 games after conceding their 10th defeat of the season.
Lentjies feels his side has to get the “monkey off their back” in terms of clinching victory on their home turf.
“Obviously disappointing. Like I said before the game we wanted all three points. After we conceded the first goal we were back in there,” Lentjies told SuperSport TV after the game.
“Started the second half very well and had the momentum up until about the 65th minute. But then after that we conceded. It’s small elements that are killing us at the moment. Individuals making mistakes. That’s something we have to live with.
“I don’t believe in luck. A lot of coaches say we were lucky our unlucky. It was a chance that we missed and they also missed numerous chances but I can say we’re struggling to get this monkey off our back when it comes to our home games. Fortunately enough we’re playing away from home (on Tuesday).”
