Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed that star Thembinkosi Lorch will miss their Absa Premiership clash with SuperSport United on Wednesday.
Following their shock defeat by Zambian outfit Green Eagles in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League this past weekend, Pirates will be hoping to bounce back when they take on SuperSport at the Mbombela Stadium.
In the league, the Buccaneers currently occupy seventh place in the standings following their 3-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic on the opening day of the new season.
Pirates have since given an update on Lorch, who has been sidelined since his Man of the Match performance against Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Black Label Cup last month.
‘Footballer of the Season Thembinkosi Lorch looks set to miss out on the Buccaneers’ third consecutive game due to an injury,’ Pirates confirmed on their official website.
Meanwhile, the Soweto giants have also confirmed that defender Mthokozisi Dube could miss their clash with Matsatsantsa.
‘Another player set to miss out on the match is right back Mthokozisi Dube, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury,’ Pirates stated.
Orlando Pirates against SuperSport United kicks off at 7:30pm.
