Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Patrick Mabedi says their main objective is to fight for third place in the Absa Premiership and qualify for the next year’s Caf Confederation Cup.

The Glamour Boys climbed up to third in the league standings with 45 points following their 2-0 victory over Maritzburg United at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Mabedi says his side are high in confidence ahead of their match against the Urban Warriors after claiming maximum points against an in-form Maritzburg side.

‘The win against Maritzburg will give us confidence going into the Ajax game,’ Mabedi told his club’s official website.

‘It’s our objective to fight for third position and qualifying for the African Confederation Cup.

‘But Ajax have a good side and they are fighting to survive relegation. We will plan to go out there, be professional and do our job. It will be a tough game, but we are definitely eyeing third spot.’

Kaizer Chiefs are set to take on Ajax Cape Town in the Absa Premiership at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, 12 May, with kick-off set for 3pm.
